The concept of salad in Afghanistan is not the same as it is the case in the Western world. A salad is actually not consider to be a proper meal it is accompanying the main dishes only …the composition varies according to the seasons and the vegetables which are available on the markets.

The presentation and the combination of different colours are very important…

The Afghan salad is a mixture of fresh vegetable washed, nicely cut into small pieces or as a dip and presented on a tray or on a plate.

The sauce does not exist lemon only may be poured on it…no oil, no yogourt simple slides of tasty vegetables.

Let’s notice that the green peppers are always present cut in slices and fresh coriander as well as a decoration effect.
